Dr. Zakhartchouk has a MSc in Biochemistry and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the Moscow Veterinary Academy, and a PhD from Research Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology in Moscow. He joined VIDO-InterVac as a Scientist in 2001, and worked on molecular characterization of non-human adenoviruses to develop them as vaccine vectors for animals and humans. In addition, Dr. Zakhartchouk was involved in developing a vaccine against SARS. His expertise includes viral vaccines, viral pathogenesis, and viral vectors.
