Ravendra Garg

Flow Cytometry Group

Dr. Garg completed his Ph.D. in Immunology at the Central Drug Research Institute, India where he studied the development of a novel vaccine candidate against the Leishmania parasite. He completed his postdoc at Laval University, Quebec where he worked on the immunological and molecular mechanism of HIV-1/Leishmania co-infection using experimental models (human DCs, macrophages, B and T cells).

Subsequently as a Research Associate at VIDO, his focus was on vaccine development against human RSV and PIV3. Further at the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition, U of S, he managed translational research for the development of radioimmunotherapy with radiolabeled antibodies and CAR-T cell therapy against cancers (AML, and colorectal) and HIV.

In 2021, Dr. Garg joined VIDO as a Project Manager where he managed R&D projects on animal and human vaccines and therapeutics. In June 2023, he moved into the position of Research Scientist, Flow Cytometry Specialist where he is developing flow cytometry assays with researchers. With a strong background in immunology and over a decade of experience in flow cytometry, he will be exploring the full potential of this powerful technology in cutting edge research in vaccine development and making it a core facility for VIDO.
