Yan Zhou

Dr. Zhou completed her Doctoral degree in molecular biology of Influenza virus in Justus Liebig University, Giessen, Germany. She joined VIDO as a Research Scientist in 2003, and is currently leading an Influenza research project. Dr. Zhou received a national prestigious salary award- Canadian Institutes of Health Research New Investigator award (2007-2012). Her research expertise includes molecular biology of influenza virus, virus induced signal transduction, viral pathogenesis and vaccine development.
Research Interests:
- Studying the influenza virus-host interaction focusing on virus induced innate immune responses
- Novel vaccine development for pandemic influenza viruses
